Dana Hunkele

 

I am an approachable I've always had a passion for two things in life - interiors and retail.  As a child, I remember playing store and rearranging my furniture constantly.  I began what became my multi-decade career when I was 15, working in a local boutique.  I loved listening to people's needs, helping them find what they needed and re-merchandising the store everyday.  From there, I went on to work in the retail field at Banana Republic and then corporately at J.Crew, Ann Taylor, Coach and most recently was responsible for the Babies 'R Us website.

For as long as I can remember, I have helped people create beautiful, meaningful and livable spaces for fun.  After a lot of soul searching and discussion with those in the interior design community around me, I decided it was time for change. And like that, Plume Interiors LLC was established. 

​

My personal style is cozy yet modern, an eclectic blend of old and new, a bit of the high and a surprise of the low that just looks high.  I truly believe that if you love it, it will work and you will always find a spot for it.  Helping people determine what their style is and how to make their space function to meet their needs is my main concern.  I truly believe that good design is attainable for all regardless of your budget and style.

Past projects include the full scale renovation of a Caldwell home, the remodel of a Toms River home badly damaged by Sandy, a home in Montclair, a Ridge Run home in Kinnelon, a center hall colonial in Glen Ridge and the new build of a Lavalette beach home. Currently, I am working on various projects throughout New Jersey.
